What a joke this place is, with a straight face they said 1,700 to change a alternator.. because it's such a hard job it would take 3 days labor to do it... again that's 1,700 to change a alternator. I am not a mechanic at all but me and a friend did the same job in 4 hrs total cost 150 bucks. I would never go back, but if you want to get ripped off go to Dale's
Thank you, Mr. Bote for taking the time to bring this to my attention. I immediately looked into your concerns when I saw your review and this is what I found. An alternator installation on your type of vehicle cost 1200-1500.00+tax on average according to repairpal.com. Included in our estimate of $1668.00(with tax) for the alternator installation was our diagnostic charge and installing a brand new axle seal. I completely understand why you would want to save some money. However, I have to be able to back up my repairs and make sure everything is back to OEM specifications before the vehicle leaves my service center. I have a great bunch of skilled technicians and they are excellent at what they do. Skilled technicians do not come cheap and it costs money to keep them educated and up to date with new technology. We always install the best quality parts available and strive to provide the best service possible such as free loaner cars and a 3year/36,000 mile nationwide warranty. Because of these services,it is very difficult for us to compete in price with a “Do it Yourselfer” like yourself. I sincerely hope you understand and again appreciate the opportunity you gave us and will be here if you ever need anything in the future. If you would like to discuss further, you can reach me at 563-388-9363 and I would be glad to help you out any way I can. Tim Shaffer, Owner
Weve used Dales for nearly a decade and have always been extremely happy with the work. Even though weve moved from the QC area, we often bring our car back to Dales for the quality work the shop does and the honesty they display. Most important to me is that Tim, the owner, gives honest advice on what work is really needed, when it will be done, and how much it will cost.
I had to take it back. It wasn't fixed right the first time.
They are polite and reasonable. They don't try to get you to have services done that aren't needed.
They are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about cars. They are great to work with.
They fixed my car. They were polite, courteous and very professional. I felt that they were a really good shop to work with.
I've only gone there for an oil change.
I have only been there once. They were good.
They are very good there. They do a thorough check on your vehicle, and if they find more work that needs to be done they will bring it to your attention. They leave the repairs to your own discretion.
I know the owner, they do very good work.
